Three Cubs Are Rescued After Avalanche In Italy

Natural disasters are events that affect everyone and can hit us without warning. Even though it doesn’t affect us directly, we still suffer for others. However, there are victims that are forgotten on some occasions: animals. Fortunately, this was not the case with three puppies who were trapped after an avalanche in Italy.

We want to tell you this story, which is one of those cases with a charming happy ending.

The terrible avalanche in Italy

This devastating avalanche took place at the Hotel Rigopiano, in the Italian commune of Farindola. The disaster caused the death of several people, although many survivors were rescued.

The hotel collapsed, making access difficult for rescuers. Its location, beautiful and very attractive due to its natural beauty, became an obstacle after the avalanche.

A terrible event that left a mark in this region and throughout Italy. However, the teams managed to rescue three puppies. In addition to being born again, animals have become a symbol of hope in the search for more survivors.

Three puppies are rescued from avalanche

As the main rescue team did its excellent job, a sound that was nothing like human voices seemed to come out of the rubble. It was a crying dog!

The purpose of emergency teams is to save lives, regardless of whether they are animals or people. Therefore, some members quickly went to the sound site to remove the debris that covered it.

Agilely and quickly, they began to remove stones and other debris. The sobs were heard with more and more intensity, so much so that there seemed to be more than one dog. And it was true! Three beautiful puppies were buried in the rubble and spent five days without food or drink.

They survived! It was hard to believe, but very encouraging. It wasn’t easy to get to them, but it was certainly worth it. The puppies were in the hotel’s boiler room and it was necessary to break down a wall to reach them.

The animals’ health was almost excellent and they responded to the kisses and pampering that the rescue team members gave them. Minutes later, they were taken to a veterinarian who provided them with all the necessary care for them to recover.

Where did these puppies come from?

That was a question many asked when they learned the story. Well then, it was answered when two other survivors were rescued soon after: Nuvola and Lupo.

They are two mastiffs owned by the hotel and act as guardians. The three puppies were her little children.

Thanks to the strength of these dogs, the emergency team managed to raise hopes that they could find even more people. If a puppy, such a fragile and dependent being, was able to survive without eating and drinking for 5 days, it was very likely that a person could too.

They managed to rescue a few people, less than they would have liked. But the satisfaction of saving some lives, including those of the puppies, made it all worthwhile.

We’ve seen over and over how dogs risk their lives in disasters and other life-saving events. It’s beautiful to see the roles reversed this time!
