Kooki, The Dog Nobody Wanted To See, Has A New Opportunity

Kooki, the dog that nobody wanted to see, has a new opportunity

Even in the 21st century, we are still guided by appearances. This story has something to do with it, because wherever Kooki went, no one wanted to look at her. However, as we’ve always told you, sometimes sad stories have happy endings.

There are hundreds, thousands of animals abandoned on the streets, carrying various diseases. Because of them, they are judged without people having the slightest knowledge of what happens. Fortunately, there are non-profit centers and shelters willing to help them. They act only out of kindness and humanity towards animals, making this action their great work.

That’s what happened to the protagonist of this story, Kooki.

Kooki and his story

Kooki didn’t know what was going on. His fur had fallen out, his skin itched and even his face ached. She realized that people didn’t look at her, children ran away from her. But if she was so affectionate…! Before the children looked for her to play, but now something had changed…

She didn’t quite understand what, but it was obvious that not only did she feel, but that she was very lonely. Sometimes he would look at his paws, they had a strange red color and he would lick them, but they were rough and had a bad taste . She often felt bad and couldn’t remember the last time someone had petted her.

She came to the conclusion that she was full of wounds. But people thought she was a little dog who got into fights and those were her fight wounds.

Fate or some superior force wanted Kooki to be found by a US shelter, and they ended up taking the dog. Kooki’s condition was truly pitiful. However, soon after some exams, they found out what was happening to her. His case was an extreme scabies disease.

What is scabies?

Scabies is caused by a parasite that seeps under the skin. It reproduces thanks to what it eats from your body. As he walks, he spreads his eggs wherever he goes. They, in turn, spawn thousands of parasites that start to crawl under the skin, causing a horrible itching that doesn’t stop.

The more time passes, the more acute the disease becomes and the more difficult it is to eliminate it. In addition, it wreaks havoc on the animal’s skin and appearance.

Well, Kooki seemed to have had this scabies for months, maybe years, as his condition was extreme. The disease had reached his face and there was no longer fur on most of his body. She looked more like a zombie dog than a sweet, petite dog. In fact, I was even starting to suffer respiratory problems.

Immediately, the shelter acted and provided him with proper veterinary treatment. His condition was so advanced that he even had to receive a blood transfusion.

Doctors blamed the scabies on the fact that she ingested rat poison while she was looking for something to eat on the street. In any case, Kooki was lucky to be found by someone who was willing to help her.

Although the process was long and tedious due to the state Kooki was in, the treatment worked. Kooki started to recover. His hair grew back, his paws returned to their usual shape and his skin stopped reddening. What’s more, he even breathed better and his external and internal physical state changed completely.

Today, Kooki is a totally different little dog. At this moment, everyone looks at her and wants to play with her. Although something hasn’t changed about her: her friendliness and her beautiful personality. But this was something that before many could not or did not want to see.

We hope to hear many more cases like Kooki’s and gradually end the curse of abandonment.
