A Dog Clothing Show Will Benefit Abandoned Animals

A parade of clothes for dogs will serve to install, with the profits obtained, 5 feeders to feed abandoned dogs. Among the objects that will be presented at the parade are scarves, t-shirts, coats, vests, long boots, etc.

This proposal will serve to convey to the spectators of the dog clothing parade the motivation about the importance of sterilization and adoption of dogs and cats. This idea can be included in the set of projects that will be implemented so that everyone becomes increasingly aware that animals need us and that they are waiting for us.

The collection presented in the parade was developed by the associations “Animal Voices” and “Wawaw”, and the canine models, if we can call them that, that paraded with dog clothes and other pieces, were adopted dogs and waiting for adoption, aiming to represent the different situations of dogs and cats.

In Cantabria, Spain, the Adoption Fair was held a few months ago, including the parade of dog clothes to give a second chance to dogs and cats with a difficult life and thus avoid sacrificing these animals and help them so that can be adopted.

Among the actions carried out at this event, there was a parade of clothes for dogs, information stands, workshops and competitions, in addition to the sale of t-shirts and other accessories to raise money. It is an attempt to make these animals seen and remembered.

To carry out the event and the fair, a specific association was created. The idea was that each protective association or organization would take ten dogs that participated in the parade.

At the Cantabria Fair, all people interested in adopting a dog or a cat were able to start right there, in any of the stands, the procedures for adoption. The event was a success of public and adoptions.

From home, making photos of animals public in all kinds of forums and social networks, looking for people who can adopt abandoned animals, spreading the actions and performances developed by associations, printing posters and images of the many animals that are ready to be adopted and distributing them in veterinary clinics, as well as in all types of public establishments, or making donations of material for the animals.

Another action that can help a lot is raising funds for these associations, such as selling coupons for different draws, or even for the Christmas lottery.

Active participation in the activities of an association

Active participation in association activities is also very beneficial . This can be done in many ways:

• Helping to transport the animals to take them to the vet, or to their new home;

• Making an intermediation with the new owners;
• Accompanying the dogs and cats that are in the shelter, or those that have already been adopted, to prove their new reality, the adaptation to the new home, collaborating in the animal’s socialization, visiting it to check the evolution of the pet in the new home, etc.

In collaboration with the activities of the protective association or organization, it is possible to actively participate by developing and helping in the events, transporting the material necessary for them to occur, collaborating in the transport of animals to the parades with animals, from the shelter or residence of the animal to the place where the event will be held and then back to their places of origin, paying attention to all the animal’s needs during the parade, its walks, water to keep them hydrated, etc.

In the expansion of available spaces for abandoned animals and for those in need of help, many actions are developed. An example of this is what the Association for the protection of dogs and cats, “Felcan”, is doing, which has already acquired new land for the construction of a recovery and adoption center. This place will be called Oasis and will be able to house in its facilities up to 150 dogs and 30 cats.
