A Dog Rescued From A Locked Car Recovers In A Shelter

Even with the many warnings, irresponsible owners keep leaving their pets locked inside their cars, putting their pets at risk of dying from heatstroke. This time the news takes us to the municipality of Crucifique, in Alicante, Spain. There, thanks to the action of the Civil Guard, it was possible to save a female of the Pit bull breed . The dog rescued from a car was transported to a shelter, where she is recovering.

The members of the Civil Guard were attending a repossession, because of an anonymous call that denounced the illegal occupation of a house, an act that they could not prove.

But instead, they found that, inside a car, without any ventilation and parked in the sun, a Pit bull breed dog was locked.

The agents immediately tried to contact the owner of the vehicle, a 29-year-old Bulgarian woman, by telephone, but were unable to locate her. So they called her through the police car loudspeakers, in case she was in the immediate vicinity, but there was no answer either.

As time passed and the dog began to show signs of being in real danger, the guards decided to break one of the windows and took the animal out of the car. Then they refreshed the dog with water and verified that it was a female of the breed and that she was not identified with a microchip.

The rescued bitch recovers in an animal protection association

The rescued dog, considered to be a potentially dangerous breed, was handed over to members of the Animal Protection Society of Vinalopó, located in the city of Elda, who had been called to the scene of the incident by members of the Civil Guard.

At the shelter they informed that the animal was properly examined and that it is doing well after recovering from the dehydration it suffered from being locked in the vehicle parked in the Alicante midday sun.

As for the presumed owner of the animal, who can be convicted of a mistreatment, she remains undetected. His vehicle was removed from the scene by police officers from Crucifique and placed in municipal premises of the City Hall. So far the car has not been claimed by the owner.

Although many good-hearted people have already expressed a desire to adopt the Pit Bull , a court decision is still awaited.

If, after the investigation, they decide not to return the animal to its, so far, supposed owner, or if it still does not appear, the City Hall will declare abandonment and, from that point on, it can be put up for adoption.

But if they find the woman, she will have to explain why she abandoned the bitch and why, since the bitch is considered to be a potentially dangerous breed, she was not properly identified.

But this whole process takes time. Meanwhile, the furry one continues to recover from her bad moments inside a car because of irresponsible humans.
